Creating subsidiary called ClipoftheDay.com

November 30, 2024 by admin Leave a Comment

I went live with a new web project in November of 2024 past. There is a post that month of my oldest daughter Maggie and me from “My Birthday Walk” you will enjoy.

I turned 52 this week and I am now a firm believer that “you are never too old to follow your dreams” or anything that brings you joy. The website is linked below. All you need to do is click on the logo.

I’ve had the Twitter (X.com) ID and YouTube channel and many other web products with the name ClipoftheDay since March 2007.  I recently bought the domain from a good friend (Eddy) & past business partner—from when we worked together at Yahoo.com—and felt driven to make the website about me and my family.

Eddy was instrumental in helping me start Streamworks Media, LLC. back in 2008 as a backup plan to my main source of income. I became a GoDaddy reseller for domains and webhosting products underneath Eddy’s company, SangFroidWebDesign, please feel free to click on the link and expore his website services and hosting packages. Being prepared with Streamworks Media, LLC. helped me immensely during the economic downturn of 2008.

Eddy’s company in Alpharetta, GA.

Eddy and I would brainstorm about new business ideas while eating our oatmeal every morning. He mentioned he owned the domain, and we had the idea to do something together. As always with life, things happen and we lost touch on the project due to layoffs at Yahoo! and other family emergencies. Recently, Eddy reached out to me and wanted to see if I still had any interest to buy the domain. I thought about it, but passed. It didn’t crop up again for a month or two until I received a killer coupon from SmugMug.com. I took this opportunity to buy a new mug with the logo I created back in 2014 or 2015 for my YouTube channel.

The coffee cup that started it all!

Long story short, when the mug came in the mail. I decided to look into buying the domain again. I reached out to Eddy, who was slammed at work, and he didn’t respond to my text messages due to that fact. I couldn’t wait anymore, as being surprised, that the domain was still for sale. I filled out a form on the website, and in minutes a rep from GoDaddy called, and Boom! it was mine. Another stepping stone on my walk down the road, my journey of life.

All of the events in my life have led up to this moment (yeah dude, that’s how life works) and I had an epiphany. My kids and family are most the important part of my life, hence, ClipoftheDay.com, concept was born.
